The Lost City in the Clouds

Machu Picchu sits majestically at 2,430 meters above sea level, nestled between two sharp peaks in the Peruvian Andes. This 15th-century Incan citadel remained hidden from Spanish conquistadors and the outside world until Hiram Bingham's rediscovery in 1911.

A Testament to Incan Engineering

The terraced structures visible on the mountainsides demonstrate the sophisticated agricultural and architectural knowledge of the Inca civilization. The site's strategic location provided natural defenses while the surrounding cloud forest ecosystem supported diverse flora and fauna.
