The ancient city of Polonnaruwa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, preserves centuries of Sri Lankan Buddhist heritage. This white-domed stupa stands as a spiritual beacon above the tropical canopy that has reclaimed much of the historic landscape.

The view captures the harmonious coexistence of sacred architecture and nature, where massive granite boulders and dense jungle frame the sacred monument. Polonnaruwa served as the capital of Sri Lanka from the 11th to 13th centuries.

Today, these ruins and monuments remain active sites of worship and pilgrimage, connecting modern visitors to the island's rich Buddhist civilization and architectural achievements.
