The Clan Jetties of Georgetown represent one of Penang's most distinctive cultural landmarks, where Chinese immigrant communities built wooden settlements on stilts over the water dating back to the 19th century.
Each jetty was traditionally occupied by a different Chinese clan, with the Chew Jetty being the largest and most visited. Today, these waterfront communities blend residential life with tourism, as families continue living alongside cafes, galleries, and souvenir shops.
The scene captures daily life at the jetties, where small fishing boats rest in the sheltered harbor, colorful murals adorn weathered wooden walls, and traditional red lanterns signal the area's enduring Chinese heritage within Malaysia's multicultural fabric.
