Built in the 14th century, Bellver Castle stands as one of Europe's few circular Gothic castles. Its distinctive courtyard showcases two tiers of elegant pointed arches supported by slender stone columns, all constructed from local marés sandstone.
The fortress served as a royal residence for the Kings of Mallorca and later functioned as a military prison. Today, it houses Palma's History Museum and offers panoramic views over the city and bay.
This architectural masterpiece represents a rare example of medieval military engineering combined with palatial design, making it one of Mallorca's most iconic landmarks and a testament to Gothic architecture in the Balearic Islands.
