The historic heart of Prague transforms into a winter wonderland each December, as the Old Town Square hosts one of Europe's most enchanting Christmas markets. Gothic spires pierce the night sky while thousands of twinkling lights adorn centuries-old buildings and market stalls.
Visitors bundle against the December chill, drawn by the aroma of traditional trdelník pastries and svařák (mulled wine). The cobblestone square, worn smooth by eight centuries of footsteps, reflects the golden glow of street lamps and festive illumination.
The Church of Our Lady before Týn stands sentinel over the scene, its distinctive twin towers a Prague icon since the 14th century. Nearby, the Old Town Hall Tower houses the famous Astronomical Clock, continuing its 600-year tradition of marking time for the city.
