Built in 1354 by Sultan Feroz Shah Tughlaq, this ancient fortress complex stands as one of Delhi's most significant historical monuments. The red sandstone ruins showcase Indo-Islamic architecture from the medieval period.

The central lake, originally a baoli (stepwell), provided water storage for the fortress inhabitants. Today, the emerald waters reflect the clear Delhi sky while visitors explore the weathered stone corridors.

Archaeological Survey of India maintains this protected monument, where ancient archways and crumbling walls tell stories of sultanate-era Delhi. The site remains popular with history enthusiasts and photographers.
