The Jewel of Mewar
Lake Pichola, an artificial freshwater lake created in 1362 AD, remains the crown jewel of Udaipur. The shimmering waters reflect the brilliant white marble of the Lake Palace, built by Maharana Jagat Singh II in 1746.
Living Heritage
Today, the lake continues to serve as both a tourist destination and a living part of local life. Motorcycles park beside ancient ghats, dogs rest in the warmth, and visitors walk the same stone pathways used for centuries.
