At 200 meters above the surrounding plains, Sigiriya's summit offers breathtaking 360-degree views of Sri Lanka's central province. The ancient palace ruins feature remarkably preserved terracotta brickwork and sophisticated water management systems.
Built by King Kasyapa in the 5th century CE, this architectural marvel served as both fortress and pleasure palace. The summit terrace once supported an elaborate complex of royal chambers, gardens, and ceremonial spaces.
