The Bridge That Connected Worlds
The Stari Most has stood as a symbol of connection and resilience since 1566, when Ottoman architect Mimar Hayruddin completed this engineering marvel. Its elegant single arch spans 29 meters over the emerald Neretva River.
A Testament to Reconstruction
After its destruction in 1993 during the Bosnian War, the bridge was meticulously rebuilt using traditional techniques and original materials, reopening in 2004 as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Living History
Today, the bridge remains the heart of Mostar, where traditional diving competitions continue and visitors from around the world witness one of the Balkans' most photographed monuments.
