The Icon
Five massive white fingers emerge from the golden sand of Playa Brava, creating one of South America's most recognizable sculptures. Created by Chilean artist Mario Irarrázabal in 1982, Los Dedos (The Fingers) has become the defining symbol of Punta del Este.
The Experience
Visitors from around the world climb, photograph, and interact with the surreal concrete digits that appear to be rising from beneath the beach. The sculpture's scale becomes apparent only when standing beside it, with each finger towering several meters above the sand.
The Setting
Set against the backdrop of Atlantic Ocean waves and the Punta del Este skyline, the sculpture captures the essence of this glamorous resort destination where art, nature, and tourism converge.
